Levitsky met Ragy Thomas in 1999 when he founded Advaya, an early direct email provider, which was later sold to Bigfoot Interactive, which in turn was sold to Epsilon in 2005. Advaya was a spinoff of BigStar Entertainment, which Levitsky founded in 1998. BigStar, an online retaliler of DVDs and Videos, generated over $16 million in revenue in second year of operations. Levitsky was successful in raising over $18 million in private equity, leading to a $40 million IPO underwritten by Prudential Securities, Wasserstein Perella, and Van Kasper (SF).
Prior to his journey into entrepeneurship, Levitsky served as Marketing Director for New Century Network, a consortium of NY Times, Cox, Knight-Ridder, Wash. Post, Times-Mirror, Advance Publications, Hearst and other major newspaper chains.
He began his career in interactive marketing as the Director of Internet Marketing for Columbia House, where he developed the first Columbia House web site: columbiahouse.com, and generated over $100MM in Internet Sales by the second year of the site’s operations.
Levitsky holds an MBA from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business in Information Systems and a BA in Political Science from Columbia University in the City of New York. He lives with his wife and three children and dog, Cooper, in Northern NJ, and enjoy
